We live in Canada, Montreal, with my wife and my daughter. This is going to be a family trip. I am 36, French and Canadian, photographer, graduate in biology. My wife is Chinese, marketing associate, 30 (a great mother and a great cook, a smart and charming woman). We are ready for a whole lot of sea adventures. We just need to begin...I have basic cruising knowledge; took a diesel course, fast learner but I lack experience on that kind of gaff cutter. Leg one of the Historical Seas Tall Ships Regatta will follow the route, according to legend, of Jason and the Argonauts in search of the Golden Fleece from Volos, Greece (9-12 May 2010) through the Dardanelles into the Black Sea. The next port of call will be Varna, Bulgaria (21-24 May), departing on the country's National Day (24 May). From there the fleet will race to Istanbul, Turkey (27-30 May), where the Regatta will be a centrepiece of the city's celebrations of its designation as European Capital of Culture in 2010. From there the fleet will cruise and race to Lavrion, Greece (4-7 June) close to Athens and a wealth of other historical and cultural sites in the region of Attica.

Hello & welcome to coastal cruising in the Pacific Northwest, originating out of the South Puget Sound. The Spiritwind is a South Pacific veteran; a 15 ton Bill Garden Skookum Cruiser. She has two cabins and a salon and has hot/cold water, shower and galley. I have her setup with a sound system(p.a.&recording) and comfort for eco-sailing. Technically, the boat has a 60 hp Isuzu diesel, autohelm 6000, GPS&PC Nav, Furuno radar, hard shell inflatable with 10 hp, kayak and life raft. 1100 sq. ft sail, cutter/sloop rigged.
