The KATHARINA is identical in every way to the traditional “Pinisi” (Sulawesi Schooners), a type of vessels which have plied the Indonesian waters for centuries. This special vessel provides the classic pinisi sailing experience with and interior and machinery engineered to modern standards, including full safety gear. She can accommodate 16 persons in private double cabins (up to 20 for families). In the fall of 2001, she will be sailing the Irian Jaya coast and is also available in Bali and in the Lombok/Flores/Komodo Islands area. Pricing is at a rate of 15,400 to 19,800 per week dependent upon number in the group, season, and area.
